Signs
By Terrance Dean

I recently saw the movie “Signs” and was looking forward to seeing the extraterrestrials and finding out the purpose of the unique designs we have seen in the crops of Mexico, Arizona and other cities where there is much rural land.

I got more than I anticipated and was pleasantly surprised. Not to give away the movie and its plot, I think the message was more than what we always hope for. The message was simply its title, “Signs.”

As I walked home after the movie, I smiled and talked with Spirit because I realized that during my life I had been given many signs to help me along my journey. I remembered the people whom I used to think were coincidental in coming into my life. I remembered the incidents that were chance happenings. I also remembered when some things were so blatantly in my face, I had no other choice but to recognize the signs.

You see life is always giving us little signs on what we should be doing and where we should be going. The signs that appear may be subtle or smack dab in our faces. It’s those moments when you meet someone and you’re not quite sure why you met them and days, months, or years later it hits you like a ton of bricks of your purpose with this particular person.

If you take a moment and look back over your life and start to notice certain patterns, you will discover the many signs you may have missed along the way. The many ways Spirit was guiding you through life and you chose to ignore the signs. The many times you’ve prayed for answers and sometimes the answers didn’t come as you expected, but may have come thru a song, a movie, a memento, a homeless person, a child, or even a family member.

Start paying attention to the signs that are happening and showing up in your life. Things are not by chance or coincidence; everything has a purpose because that is exactly how God designed it.
